C3h8o Lewis Structure - How To Discuss

C3h8o Lewis Structure

Please help me with the molecular structure ... C3H8O? 3

I really need help with that, I would be very grateful if I could explain it more clearly than the complex words used by my teacher.

C3H8O

I'm building a Lewis structure and I have to find it.

Molecular geometry,

Hydrogen type, hybridization? In the central atom? (Please explain I do not understand)

Is the connection polar? (Explain, I do not understand)

What are polar molecular bonds? (Explain, I do not understand)

Please help me, tomorrow is my exam and I am good in this part ...

By the way, this work is for general chemistry news.

EST, can you tell me that you discovered that COH bonds are polar and non-polar?

Molecular geometry

The structure is CH3CH2CH2OH, different from what people wrote earlier.

Central Carbon is a sp3 hybrid.

COH bonds are polar and others are not.

Polar molecule

OHCHCH3

|

CH3

It looks like a sack that encloses with a drawstring. Central carbon has two bonds and 1, 1 hydroxy and one hydrogen: 4 bonds in total.

4 bonds means sp3 hybridization (no double bond etc.)

The molecule is polar. This means that one of the bonds has a very electrically negative group (in this case, the OH group). This bond is polar, this molecular bond is polar (bond = molecular bond!) Oxygen is usually a highly electronegative atom and usually gives the molecule its polar nature when it binds to carbon.

Have you ever heard of hydrogen? Nor Wikipedia.

A lot of basic information seems to be missing. (E.g. molecular bond = bond). If you do not understand the basics, you will have a hard time understanding CI chemistry. Learn these basics and the rest will be easy.

Molecular geometry,

Hydrogen type, hybridization? in between...

There are at least two compounds with this formula. The most common is propyl alcohol, CH3CH2CH2OH

Each carbon has an ■■■■ sp3 hybrid that can be used to bind hydrogen and, in the extreme right carbon, in the form of oxygen. Oxygen also contains ■■■■ sp3 to bind carbon and hydrogen. This carbon, where the molecular-defining group bonds are located, is the central atom.

The bond is not polar. However, due to the unshared electrons in the oxygen atom, the molecule is slightly polar.

By the way, isopropyl alcohol (CH3) is the same formula as 2CHOH. The types of bonds are the same, except that the second carbon is now the central atom.
