Can Cats Eat Clams - How To Discuss

Can Cats Eat Clams

Can cats eat canned shellfish? ...? 3

My mother gave me a box of claims. But I don't like scallops so I thought I'd add it to my cat's food and feed it for hours instead of throwing it away hahaha

Thanks!!

That's fine - this is not a bad thing at all. Scallops are good, nutritious foods in themselves, but canned muscle contains sodium.

Once the box is opened, it will deteriorate in a few days. Keep something in the freezer in a plastic bag to help it spread and not overload the kitten with salt.

First, wash the scallops thoroughly in warm water in a spaghetti strainer (water only!) ... this will remove the sodium and preservatives added during the canning process. And I will not give my cat more than 1/2 box twice a week (maximum).

I won't risk it ... a little tuna yes, but I don't trust the claims ...
