Can You Eat Pinfish
Is Panfish edible? Or just used as bait? Are they toxic or not recommended? 3
My family got 5 today and we want to eat them but we want to see if they are edible.

Because they are so small, it takes a lot of steak to make a complete family meal. They are edible because they belong to the P family ... but they are also an oily breed that cannot make good food unless you like mackerel.
They are better than food.
On a small note, five of them barely knew how to make fish tacos.
A: Contrary to previous partners' claims, pinfish are perfectly edible and do not taste like the real mackerel family.
Unlike mackerel, we are wild fish that eat almost exclusively small, fatty fish. It seems relatively light there.
The biggest problem with eating panfish is preparation. Normal small sizes (although I can hold them up to 10 inches), very sharp spines (which can't cause very painful but toxic wounds) and coarse scales can be a challenge.
When we found the big skewers, we filled them and then took them out. Small fish can be peeled off with an S, as long as the fish is kept moist and fresh until clean. For ease of use, we request that it be re-certified in cold water for cleaning and sanitizing.
The live small penfish is also the best bait for a variety of large fish. Make sure you keep it on your right foot. A pair of leather gardening gloves is the best protection in this endeavor. It also helps to trim the dorsal fan.

Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. Size and bone challenges are easy to handle. Fry, not fillet. Remove the bone and place the fish back in the mouth like a corn ear. Use your teeth and discard the meat. It's like any fish in a pan. They have a mild flavor and are non-greasy. If you are accustomed to dealing with sea urchins, you know that they should not be caught on the backs of live fish. Usually, I just vacuum and remove after freezing. The flakes dissolve more easily after cooling.
