Contactless Payments
Contactless payment technology allows you to make payment transactions using a contactless chip built into payment cards, tags, key fobs and mobile phones. The chip communicates with the reader using radio frequencies or Near Field Communication (NFC) standards. This includes radio frequency identification (RFID) as part of the machine-to-machine communication trend. Contactless payment is better known as Wave and Pay or Tap and Go.
Contactless payment is possible thanks to Near Field Communication or NFC technology. With NFC-enabled cards or smartphones, shoppers can pay for their purchases without touching the payment terminal - just shake or tap. Mobile payments, such as Apple Pay, are one of the most common forms of contactless payments.
