Can anyone give me a concrete example of an idea? (Sorry, I don't know the relation of ntion.) For example, where are the two x coordinates equal? I can only think of time for X.

Since for every positive number (positive and negative) there are * two * square roots, this is not a verb.
Or a real-world example with a survey of people asking in centimeters about their age and height. You'll have people of the same age but different sizes, right? You can determine the relationship between age and height, but it is not a process.

Let's go x 2 + y 2 = 25. (This is a circle with center ori and radius 5.) What if x = 3? Of course y can take two values, +/- 4, so this is not a function.
Here's what to think about it in real life:
Suppose I ask all students in the class to provide their Social Security number. There is a definite answer to this. There is only one social security number for each student. This is an example of a process.
Suppose I ask each student to enter their PIN number. There can be more than one answer. A student has a PIN, a cell phone, maybe a job key, ... no final result for all students. This is not a function.
