Like most modern Ford vehicles, the Explorer has 6x8 front and rear speakers. You can use 6x8 or 5x7 speakers without modification, or you can use 51/4 round speaker or most 61/2 speakers, but you have to make or buy adapter.
Since I don't know if it's a 2 or 4 port ID, I have to make the best guess about 5 1/4 on the front and back. Enter the year of TR, make and model and it will tell you what size you need and where.
