Geostationary Satellite
A satellite that appears to be at a fixed point in space from the Earth's surface. Satellites in geostationary orbit move with the rotation of the Earth. Geostationary satellites are located 22,237 miles above the Earth's surface. Most VSAT and DBS satellites are in geosynchronous orbits (GEO). See also DBS and VSAT.
