I just bought the first and last dozen golden eggs from Aldi because I believe the United Eggs certified label means they were raised without animal testing. No yes !! Aldi has no farm, but he gets his eggs (probably) from the fields. UEP certification doesn't make sense.

According to HSUS: United Egg Users Certified

Most egg companies in the United States adhere to United Eggs Certified, a voluntary program that allows inhumane practices. Certification prohibits forced starvation, but allows the bill to be reduced. The parties confirm the audit compliance of the arbitrator.

Inside the cage

Each hen has a cage: smaller than a piece of paper. By keeping chickens in these sterile battery cages, they prevent them from sleeping, building nests, feeding and even spreading their wings.

Golden egg

Golden is just a lady, so I doubt they have a direct egg farm. They are more likely to buy eggs from other companies and change their name to Golden Hen SD. If your country has relevant labeling laws, you should indicate on the packaging whether they are blocked or not. You should ask Aldi directly what is available in your area.
