How To Separate Frozen Chicken
Should I sort 2.5 kg of frozen chicken without defrosting it? 3
I have a 5 pound styrofoam chicken that I just kept in my freezer, yes when I arrive at the grocery store. Now I want to get one piece in the whole package without discount. Should I cut a piece when it's all frozen together?
Be careful, it is better to use a knife or knives to separate them. If you do, they will fall apart. I have done this many times. If you need to submerge it with water and it also helps, place the leftovers in the freezer or leave them while doing so and freeze them in a separate bag. They will be fine because you don't melt them completely, you just drip ice on them.
I just read this and I had the same problem, it was chicken wings, not part. I used a rubber hammer and a small half-width wooden chisel. I have a 34 pound Costco winged tray which my colleague threw in the freezer B4. I can divide it into 23 bags. Smile ...
However, with a chisel I stuck it between the pieces where I wanted to separate them. I turned around and did the same. This large wing-shaped plate easily breaks into 2 pieces. I lost some wings (maybe 3), but they were all good. It took 15 minutes.
HTH!
You can't really do that, you can try diluting the water and separating it a bit, but it can damage the chicken.

Do you * really * know how to cut frozen chicken properly? First of all, you really have to * separate * them. Then place one packet at a time in the microwave on * High * for 30 seconds to reach room temperature. You can then use the * sharp * mark to cut the triangle into clear V-shaped pieces. Then (for those cuts that do not have wings or legs), carefully cut into pieces 1/4 of the thickness of the meat. Chicken and beef section pages
