Meanings of Ideal

  1. The perfect standard of beauty, intelligence, etc., or the standard of perfection one should aspire to.

  2. A closed sub-ring when multiplied by the surrounding ring.

  3. (network theory) A non-empty inferior set (of a partially ordered set) that is closed with respect to a binary supreme (otherwise a compound).
