I want to patch my jacket (soft and waterproof material), will it melt?
Do not iron. It will melt.
You can buy fabric glue at most craft or sewing shops. Just one or two bottles. Glue / jacket / patch can be washed if fabric glue is used.
Do not iron your coat. The material will shrink when you iron it. It will also damage your iron. Use glue to stick the sticker in place.
You can use fabric glue, but if you want to treat the heat, use several layers of brominated paper to control the heat transfer from the iron to the fabric. Brown paper protects iron and fabric.
Possible. If you don't like jackets, try the nearest fire extinguisher.
