Is Cardboard Biodegradable
Why is cardboard biodegradable and water soluble? 3
I wonder why cardboard is still labeled biodegradable but not water soluble.
I mean, shouldn't cardboard have moisture to be considered biodegradable?
Am I misunderstanding the meaning of degradable?
updateOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH I get it now.
I placed an order (2 months later ... maybe only 1)
Because no one gave me an answer that I could understand!
Cardboard molecules can melt over time or when mixed with certain chemicals. Water does not have the proper structure to work.
Why are you asking
Dissolution in water means that solubility in solution has nothing to do with water solubility and degradation. Degradable means that bacteria can destroy the wound.
Soluble means it is soluble in water and can be part of water (like sugar). Cardboard and paper contain cellulose, cellulose can melt (crush), but it does not dissolve in water. .

Declining means it can rot. If Ngi grows on cardboard, it will melt in the dirt. Water soluble means soluble in water like salt or sugar. The box rots but does not dissolve.
Cardboard is made of cellulose or wood chips. Wood chips and cellulose can be damaged but take a long time to decompose. Wood chips and cellulose are insoluble. Only substances that form ionic bonds are soluble.
