I've got a leopard gecko and I'll use the fabric as a substrate. Can I use paper towels and thermal pads?

Hey hey i You leave clean paper towels. Cover the floor. Slightly thicken the paper towels around the heating pad. The heating pad should be at the bottom of the tank and cover 1/31/2 of the tank.

If you are using a thermal pad, place it under the terrarium, not inside. We don't want fried lizards, let alone them. Keep it just under 1/3 of the terrarium so that your gecko can escape when it wants to cool down. Also, keep in mind that many heating pads are designed to shut off automatically after a few hours. If the ambient temperature is below 70 degrees, it can be painful for your gecko. They're a little expensive, but you can buy special reptile heating pads at most pet stores. They can range in size from $ 15 to $ 30. I recommend the one I have been running for six years and it still works great.
If you use a paper towel on the substrate, it will crumble (somewhere, 2.5 x 5 cm). As such, it is loose enough to dig, but not small enough to be easy to install.
