Minimum Crawl Space Height
Crawling buildings in Ontario. What is the minimum height at the bottom of the rod? 3
I will have a special order in Ontario. Everything except the sewerage system will pass through the single use attic. What is the minimum height I have between suspended R-beams at the highest level for Ontario Building Codes?
updateI believe that, in some buildings, R-beams can be placed directly on the concrete R slab. That said, I don't understand why there should be a minimum height limit for R-beam suspension. I think it's impossible to crawl under it without coffee, but if everything that went under the sewer pipe was never needed, would it? One question is, do Ontario building codes set minimum height limits for R-beam suspensions?
I don't know Ontario, but here's a general idea.
You are allowed to put treated wood on the floor.
The raw wood should be hung so high that the moisture on the floor does not attack the beams. Blocks placed a few inches above the ground will not support themselves unless they are placed 3 feet above the ground. Most building codes require a minimum of 36 inches.
And on a concrete slab or concrete slab, the floor is considered suitable as long as the installation has a proper drainage system.
Note that this only applies to beam requirements. Many cities also have tracking requirements. They are too diverse to talk about on the Internet. Here you can ask your local government.
