The latest computer scan returned a code for P1494. We rearranged the code and John's light returned. Any problem suggestions that cause this error code.
The mechanic said it was an EVAP system. Haynes' book says you should check yourself and replace the charcoal cartridge. But the parts store does not have cartridges and says they do not need to be replaced. Can I change anything else?
Do not replace the cartridge. This code determines when ldp-sw will not close if there is space left in ldp. Vapor leakage will not set this code. First check the vacuum in the LDP. If all goes well, you need a schematic to check the battery voltage, control wires, and ldp status wires. If the LDP wiring is good, the LDP switch is broken and you replace the LDP. Almost 100% of the time.
