Image prints are obtained by exposing paper to light. Therefore, images are made on chemical surfaces using chemical compounds. It is called callotype and the image quality is very high. You cannot see the dot on the eye photography print.
Poster printing is relatively inexpensive and uses ink to print. If you take a closer look at the printed poster, you will see that the grid pattern called canvas means that the quality of the printed image is relatively low compared to PTO print.
But when position and impression prevail, there is little difference.
Traditional photo prints are made chemically, on plain photographic paper the light falls on the negative. Most PTOs are now printed on large printers. If you have a good printer, you can print them yourself.
