Publishers
Publishers are organizations that provide content or services to users. In many cases, publishers rely on the sale of ads bundled with their content to fund the development and distribution of content or services. In some other cases, advertising is an additional source of income. Publishers have traditionally sold their highest quality slots or ad spaces directly, while those that cannot be sold directly are often sold by third parties such as ad networks. More recently, they are sold through vendor platforms that publishers publish on e-marketplaces on their behalf. As marketers increasingly move to automated or programmatic media buying, publishers are adapting and learning how to place their ad inventory effectively through programmatic channels.
