Qualify
The process of determining how good a prospect is. For example, someone can sign up for a test drive on a website by providing their email address. This email indicates a potential sale, but this person could be anything from a purchase to someone just wanting to have a good day.
In this case, a potential customer can be qualified by asking a few additional questions to determine whether they really intend to make a purchase. Leads that pass this test are called qualified leads and are much more valuable.
