Responsiveness is when a website changes its structure/appearance/layout/content to give users the best possible experience whether they are on a desktop or phone. This means that users don't have to scale the website on their phone to read it properly. This usually means changing the text size on the website, making pages smaller, and adjusting the menu layout to fit smaller screens.
It is used to describe how flexible or adaptable the content of a web page is when viewed from different devices with different screen sizes, such as mobile phones, smartphones and tablets. As in the following example:
