The answers are read by the reader and the reader can communicate with all RFID tags in its domain via different protocols. Readers generally take three forms. Portal readers look in one place. RFID tags pass through them and communicate with the reader. Handheld readers are wearable devices that can communicate with RFID tags. Mounted readers are a special type that is placed on mobile equipment such as forklifts and cranes. They often communicate through beacons at fixed locations.
