Search Engine Index
The search engine index is a huge, constantly updated database that contains all the websites known to the search engine. The index sources are supplemented by search engine crawlers that crawl the web to find and analyze individual pages.
Before a page is indexed, crawlers process its content and evaluate its value.
How does it work?
After you enter a query into a search engine, its algorithms select the most relevant pages from the index and display the search results. You need to familiarize yourself with the algorithms of a particular search engine and its requirements and optimize the site based on them.
The search engine index contains all the pages that the search engine knows and has stored, ready to be served by users entering search queries. Index pages are generally cached (stored) from a specific date and time, not as current current versions, but periodically rescanned and cached.
