Spam Score

Spam score is an indicator available in Link Explorer tool developed by MOZ. Determine the percentage of the potential risk of being fined by Google. Use machine learning. Moz took data from websites that were banned or penalized by the search engine and identified 27 key features that link them together. The tool scans the page for these characteristics and determines the result (in percentage).

A high spam score is a signal for a thorough analysis of the site and working on its quality. Important elements are the assessment of substantive value and relevance.

Spam and SEO score

Even a high spam score does not mean that a website is unequivocally and completely spammy. This indicator takes into account many elements that can be problematic, e.g. Low authority ratings (page authority and domain authority) and questionable content quality on the site.

The spam score measures the potential risk of Google sanctions based on correlation with authorized sites, but does not show cause and effect. That is why it is so important to analyze whether there is really a cause for concern. You should check the history of your domain, if there were no penalties before then don't worry about the low or even average score.

However, it is certainly desirable to analyze and evaluate the quality of inbound links. Some of them can negatively affect the indicator result and should be carefully monitored or even removed. You need to make sure that the content on the referring site is valuable and relevant to your domain.
