Strategic planning,
Definition of Strategic planning:
A systematic process in which the desired future is envisioned and the steps approach to achieving that goal is usually translated into a sequence of set goals and actions.
Unlike long-term planning (which begins with the current situation and sets a direction to meet future expected needs), strategic planning begins with the desired goal and returns to the current state. At each stage of long-term planning, planners ask: What must be done here to reach the next (higher) stage? At each stage of strategic planning, the planner asks: What will have to be done at the first (lower) stage to get there?
Unlike strategic planning (which focuses on achieving short-term medium-term goals with certain resources), strategic planning is a broad concept and flexible in resource selection.
