What Does 15x8 Rim Size Mean

Which tires do you use for the 15x8 code? 3

I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler sports car, I just bought 15x8 wheels and I want 31 inch tires. My question is: 265 / 70r17 is suitable? Is there a better size? 31 will rub? What is my mail hourly, odometer and travel? What encouragement will this give me? Post pictures if possible! And thanks for the reply!

15x8 means the tire is 15 inches in diameter and 8 inches wide. 265/70/17 is for 17 inch wheels and does not fit. 31 are good size, I have installed many of them in stock jeeps. You will probably choose 31x10.5x15. Are you trying to find out how big the stock is, 235/75/15? Well, maybe closer, a 31 tire will give you 2 lifts above this size.

If this comparison is relevant, you can see the difference of 8 miles per hour pedometer. All 31 look fine, they don't bother, handling and handling becomes very difficult.
