Why Does My Chicken Taste Like Fish
Does my chicken taste like fish? 3
I have leftover chicken from the other day which I microwave when it was frozen. So I ate something and it was great, no fish. When I opened the container today, I did not see any odor indicating that it was bad or contaminated and that it was fine with me. I put some garlic in it (literally just garlic) and put it back in the microwave. It smelled good when I took it, but I ate it and it tasted very different from fish. I have never eaten or cooked fish, I don't have fish or fish oil in my fridge to do that. Is it just because I've cooked or is there some bacteria that I should be worried about? I put it in a really big salad with a lot of ingredients because I realized it tastes weird and I really hate throwing away all that food.
A common food pathogen, ammonia bacteria has been linked to fish spoilage because it is easily found in cold water, although it can be found in meat and other products that have not been handled, grown or processed incorrectly. Goes Patch strains can pump temperatures up to 4 degrees Celsius, which means they can still damage fish or other objects on ice or in the refrigerator. The pathogen is also responsible for the smell of fish sulfur that you smell.
These bacteria will make you very sick, so don't eat anything that smells like fish. (Actually, fresh fish doesn't smell at all.)
Chicken tastes like fish.
That's fine - this is not a bad thing at all.
